There have been many developments in the field of electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation in recent years, and it has become an increasingly valuable tool in many areas of industry, engineering and construction. This book presents selected papers from the 20th International workshop on Electromagnetic Nondestructive Evaluation (ENDE) held in Sendai, Japan, in September 2015. ENDE workshops aim to provide an international forum for discussion on the state-of-the-art and perspectives in the field of electromagnetic nondestructive methods from the point of view of science and technology, as well as their applications in industry and engineering, which have contributed to the development of nondestructive testing and evaluation techniques using electromagnetic fields. The book will be of interest to all those whose work involves the use or development of electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation techniques, in whatever field..

Currently, the acquisition of seismic surveys is performed as a sequential operation in which shots are computed separately, one after the other. This approach is similar to that of multiple-access technology, which is widely used in cellular communications to allow several subscribers to share the same telephone line. The cost of performing various shots simultaneously is almost identical to that of one shot; thus, the savings in time and money expected from using the multishooting approach for computing seismic surveys compared to the current approach are enormous. By using this approach, the long-standing problem of simulating a three-dimensional seismic survey can be reduced to a matter of weeks and not years, as is currently the case. Investigates how to collect, stimulate, and process multishooting data Addresses the improvements in seismic characterization and resolution one can expect from multishooting data Aims to educate the oil and gas exploration and production business of the benefits of multishooting data, and to influence their day-to-day surveying techniques.

This book is concerned with the processing of signals that have been sam pled and digitized. The fundamental theory behind Digital Signal Process ing has been in existence for decades and has extensive applications to the fields of speech and data communications, biomedical engineering, acous tics, sonar, radar, seismology, oil exploration, instrumentation and audio signal processing to name but a few [87]. The term "Digital Signal Processing", in its broadest sense, could apply to any operation carried out on a finite set of measurements for whatever purpose. A book on signal processing would usually contain detailed de scriptions of the standard mathematical machinery often used to describe signals. It would also motivate an approach to real world problems based on concepts and results developed in linear systems theory, that make use of some rather interesting properties of the time and frequency domain representations of signals. While this book assumes some familiarity with traditional methods the emphasis is altogether quite different. The aim is to describe general methods for carrying out optimal signal processing..
